Cats in the Kitchen #ChewyInfluencer

We've heard a lot lately about the need to vary a cat's protein in their diet. In our early years, Mom Paula use to feed us what we called the "feather diet" because it was chicken, turkey, and duck.  We don't usually eat a lot of fish and we don't really like beef. Our problems comes when we want to order a case of food and it's always the same protein and it's too expensive to buy several cases. Luckily, for us, there is a variety pack of one of our favorite brands of cat food.

We've shared many products with our readers as part of the Chewy.com Blogger Outreach Program. This month, we are happy to share  the Weruva® Cats in the Kitchen Variety Pack. We've eaten Weruva cat food since we were 1 year old and our favorite was always the chicken. Weruva developed the Cats in the Kitchen brand a few years ago and it's a cross between the original Weruva cans and the BFF Best Feline Friend food. The cans contain similar ingredients to the originals, but novel proteins like lamb, turkey, and dark meat chicken were added. The Cats in the Kitchen products feature fish oil. The Variety Pack is great because it includes four flavors:  Funk in the Trunk (chicken recipe with pumpkin consume), Chicken Frick 'A Zee (chicken recipe au jus), Lamp Burger-ini (lamb recipe), and Kitty Gone Wild (wild salmon recipe au jus).

We ate the two chicken flavors as soon as Mom Paula put them out. We LOVE chicken! Mom Paula opened the can of Lamb Burger-ini and Brulee sniffed at it and walked away, but Truffle ate it with delight! We think part of the problem may be because it was more of a pate-type food. This was the first time we'd tried lamb, so it was new to us.

The Weruva Cats in the Kitchen products are grain-free, gluten-free, and GMO-free. The Variety pack is available in easy to open cans that are high in protein and low in carbs. The food contains taurine (guards the heart) and added vitamins and minerals for a complete and balanced diet. The food is also free of carrageenan. The Variety pack contains 3.2 oz cans in a case of 12. Weruva recommends feeding your cat 1 oz for each pound of body weight and it's best fed twice a day. We don't eat that much! In fact, Mom Paula can split one of these cans between us and we're satisfied.

Visit Chewy.com and purchase the Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Variety Pack for $13.92. Add this to an order that totals $49+ and you'll receive free 2-day shipping. The customer service at Chewy.com can't be beat!

  1. That looks super tasty! I don't think we've tried that variety before. Our cats are lovers of anything shredded or in chunks. Adding this to my shopping list!

  2. We're excited to try the lamb. It's one of Mudpie's favorite flavors and not easy to find in wet food!

  7. I loved the lamb! Then again, I've started preferring pate to slices.

  8. I like food that comes in variety packs. Makes it easier to rotate proteins. Especially with how long it takes Mr. N to finish a bag.

  9. I like to rotate my dog's food, too. I normally get the same brand, but different flavors / proteins.

  12. Great information! Shasta's allergies meant we had to learn about novel proteins a few years ago. We ended up using several different brands including one out of New Zealand to ensure he had a rotating diet. It is so wonderful that pet food brands are starting to create food that can be easily rotated.

  13. Looks like the girls love the variety. I know my girls weren't a fan of beef flavor food either. They loved the "feather diet" and fish flavors.

  14. These cat food flavors sound delicious. I remember trying to find a variety pack of food for my cats back in the day. There was always at least one flavor that neither cat liked. It’s also nice that these foods do not have carrageenan. I’ve passed up several foods for the pups because they contain carrageenan.

  15. We know that if you two girls love a food it will be one we can enjoy. You two are particular in your choices and we KNOW you only eat the best!

Thank you for a great review.

  16. Variety in protein source is true for small dogs as well. When we go purchase the meat we will use for Monte's meals we always get a variety. Ground turkey, some lamb, grass fed beef etc. We make small "3 day" portion sizes and wrap them up before freezing. As a result it's a bit of a mixed bag. When I pull out one or two cubes to thaw to make the fresh food for the next 3 days ... I never know what we will get! LOL

  17. Yum- I think Kilo would gobble all those up. I buy him different cans or make homemade to add to his evening kibble most days. Kilo loves Chicken too (but then he also loves most food LOL). Love the selection and delivery as those cans get a bit heavy to lug around.

  18. I've been looking for a good brand of cat food to give to my senior cat. He really likes all the textures, and I think Weruva will be a big hit with him.

  19. Truffle is beautiful and looks like she really likes this new food! Cats definitely need protein rich foods with lots of moisture Tom protect their kidneys. It looks like this food come close to filling both of those needs...at least for Truffle.

  20. Isn't that so frustrating when you crave variety but the cases are usually packaged with just one flavor? I'm glad you found a variety pack of a food you love!
