Sunday Selfie

Brulee was really stressed yesterday...
Stressed out Brulee

Poor little Brulee.  This has been a stressful and emotional week for her.  First, her sister, Truffle scratched her eye and had to be rushed to the vet (twice) and Brulee had to tag along.  Mom Paula said something about all of our hissy fits. Brulee understands that Truffle needed some extra attention this week, but she feels she has been left out of all the cuddles.  Things were beginning to settle down back to normal when some little humans invaded the house yesterday.  Some of Mom Paula's friends came over to help set up some new technology and they brought a 2-year old and a 6-year old tiny human with them. They were all over the place and both girls found refuge in one of the rooms. Mom Paula chose to close us up in the room so we wouldn't accidentally get out while trying to escape little fingers. When Mom Paula had to open one of the doors to get something, Brulee rushed out, but she stopped dead in her tracks when she heard the tiny humans.  Poor little Brulee couldn't find a safe place away from the noise and fingers. Mom Paula finally caught Brulee and put her back in the bedroom.  After everything settled down last night, Brulee still wasn't quite herself.

Brulee in calmer times this morning

Brulee had some alone time with Mom Paula this morning before Mom Paula got out of bed.  Mom Paula says she knows why God doesn't allow older humans to have little humans.

Mom Paula:  I've never seen Brulee so stressed! I tried to comfort her, but she wouldn't have any of it. I guess the energy in the house was too much for her (for me, too!) Things are better today.

  1. Sounds like the little folk must have been the final straw for Brûlée, I do hope everyone including mom Paula, is feeling better, one way or another very soon. Normality is so under rated, but once its gone it's worth is so clear to see.

  2. Poor Brulee ! We don't like little humans either. We're lucky to have the garden or the attic for hiding : Claire has her office in the small attic, and it's strictly forbidden to anyone except Momo and us ! Purrs

  4. I have always been very very protective pf my girls. All of them. The boys too, but they were indoor-outdoor before I got a clue. I detest my cats being frightened when they are not used to children. She is very relaxed with my grandson, thank Heaven. His mom taught him how to behave. I know how you felt and still do feel.

  10. Poor Brulee. We understand about not liking the little humans. They tend to be a little noisy and grabby. We hope Brulee is better now.

  11. Children are stressful to be around! Not a lot of kitties can do it. I do, but I am pretty rare.

  13. Lots of friendly "scritches" for poor Brulee! And that's great news about Truffle's eye. (Give her a friendly "scritch", too!)

  17. Wow, those little humans can be very scary. We don't blame you girls for hiding. That's exactly what we would have done. Happy they are gone so you girls can get back to normal.
