Many of you have heard us talking about Bandit. Bandit belongs to Grandma Faye and Grandpa Paul. Bandit is the first pet Grandma Faye ever had. He came to live with them about 8 years ago and has won over Grandma Faye. Bandit is a Shih Tzu mix and weighs a solid 20 pounds. Mom Paula usually puppy sits for Bandit when his humans go out of town because he doesn't do too well at the doggie hotel. We've only met Bandit through our front door and aren't quite sure we'd allow him in our house, but Mom Paula thinks he's pretty special.
Sydney and Smokey
Sydney, Mom Paula, and Smokey
Sydney and Smokey belong to Mom Paula's sister, Dorenda. Sydney is an Minature Australian Shepherd and Smokey is an Australian Shepherd. They are beautiful dogs who are very intelligent. They used to live in neighborhoods in the Northwest corner of South Carolina, but are now living on a 31-acre farm. They love herding both humans and the animals on the farm. We think you can see how much Mom Paula loves Smokey and Sydney.
Zoey, Dalton, and Mom Paula
Dalton is a pony who lives on the farm owned by Mom Paula's sister and brother-in-law. We don't know the history behind Dalton because he was rescued from a pasture with little to no human contact. Dalton and the other pony Aunt Dorenda rescued are slowly adjusting to humans and will come to the fence to greet humans and take an apple from their hands. Tracy (Mom Paula's brother-in-law) is working on physically touching the ponies and hopes to have a halter on them soon. They've come so far in the short two months they've been on the farm compared to what they looked like and how they acted when they were first rescued.
The little girls in the photo with Mom Paula is her great niece, Zoey. Zoey will be 4 years old in November and loves visiting the farm and being around the animals. Zoey has a dog and a cat who live with her.
Goats and Ponies
Ponies and Goats
You can see both rescued ponies and two of the three goats who live on the farm. The goats ate raisins from Mom Paula's hands when she visited this past weekend. They were so funny and friendly. There are also chickens on the farm.
We've met many other species in our five years of blogging, especially through BlogPaws. We think it's so important to get along with everyone, even if they are different from you. Everyone is special in their own way and has a unique talent to share. We know all the humans who are owned by the various species out there are blessed because these animals have touched their lives.
