Holistic Delights™ are Solid Gold in Taste

We received some food from Chewy.com last month that we'd never tried before and were very interested in trying.  Mom Paula thought it would be a great food for us to try because of the different protein (shrimp) in a creamy bisque that includes coconut milk.  The food was Solid Gold Holistic Delights™.
Truffle waits for Mom Paula to open the Solid Gold Holistic Delights™

Mom Paula has never purchased Solid Gold cat food for us, but she's seen it in some of the holistic pet food stores.  Solid Gold has been in existence for 40+ years and has a well-developed line of natural and holistic dry and canned foods, treats, and supplements for cats and dogs.  The unique thing about the grain-free and gluten-free Holistic Delights™ is that the recipes use coconut milk to provide an easy-to-digest source of calcium for cats. There are six different flavors of the Holistic Delights and we received the Creamy Bisque with Shrimp and Coconut Milk flavor to sample. The Holistic Delights are in an easy-to-serve 3-ounce pouch and in a case of 12.  The food can be served as the main meal, an accompaniment to dry food, or as a tasty treat.  It includes essential vitamins and minerals, including Taurine, which is important for cats.
Brulee thinks the Holistic Delights™ is very tasty

We know the Holistic Delights are healthy for us, but the big test is whether we'll eat it, especially Brulee.  As soon as Mom Paula put the Creamy Bisque with Shrimp and Coconut Milk in her bowl, Brulee immediately began eating it.  It was easy for her to eat because of the bisque and the food was in small enough pieces for her to pick up with her tongue. Solid Gold recommends that you feed 2-4 packets a day for a cat weighing between 4-8 pounds. We never eat this much food each day, so we'll consider mixing this with our dry food or another wet food to get enough to eat.  If you don't use the entire packet, you need to refrigerate unused portions.

Based on Brulee's reaction, we give this food four-paws-up!  Brulee cleaned her plate and was looking for more.  You can get the Solid Gold Holistic Delights from Chewy.com at the current price of $14.28.  If you order this with other items from Chewy.com that total $49+, you can receive free two-day shipping.  And one of the best things about receiving items from Chewy is the box!

  1. Glad you girls liked it. I'd want to know if there is really enough calcium if coconut milk is the only source.

    1. Good question. We'll try to find out. Our suspicion is that you'd need to find additional sources if this were the only food you fed.

  4. I'm so glad you like it, Truffle and Brulee! We won some of this food in Stunning Keisha's giveaway not long ago, and it arrived today. I'm excited to have my picky little felines give it a try this weekend. Their motto tends to be the creamier the better, so hopefully this food will be a hit! Thank you for the review!

  10. Wow that sounds delicious and healthy - I make a shrimp and coconut milk with rice and vegetables. Kilo is not that fussy but I like healthy options.

  11. I'm so glad that dog food manufacturers are starting to include fish in their formulas! Cats have had the lock on fish for too long! The last bit of your blog about the best part being the box was so cute! Great way to leave me with a smile! :D

  15. Shrimp and coconut?? Holy wow! Your kitties are lucky and I bet they were over the moon (though I wouldn't expect any discerning cat to show *too* much...enthusiam LOL. I do a coconut chicken and mixed vegetable dish for Tashi -- a little coconut oil goes a long way -- and he thinks that is simply delish! Now I'm thinking I need to buy some shrimp -- for me =) Isn't it great to have such wonderful menu choices for our furry ones?
