Are You Finished Yet?

Mom Paula is still working on reviewing all of those applications!  We know it's an important job, but we want some attention.
Brulee giving Mom Paula that look

Some of you were wondering what Mom Paula is up to.  Her boss recently passed away from a glioblastoma brain tumor and the agency director has determined he wants to go outside the agency to search for a new director.  Mom Paula was asked to serve on the search committee and since this will be her future boss, of course she said yes.  The only problem is that Mom Paula is a little OCD with Perfectionism thrown in, so it takes her forever to read each application and fill out the rubric.

  4. That is a huge job for Mom Paula. Our Mom can sympathize a little, having been on search committees before. More than anything else, we hope the choice is pretty clear-cut. Would it possibly happen that the new boss would end up being female? Our Mom is reading Sheryl Sandberg's book right now, so that makes her think about such things.

  5. Brulee, you need to do what I do - walk right up and put your paw down! Otherwise, humans won't take a break! That is sad about her boss, though - I hope she finds a good replacement!

  6. The Human has been on a search committee or two in her time and it's always a nail-biting experience! Still, she has no business not putting you girls FIRST all the time! Put the bitey on those papers and MAKE her play with you!!!

  12. We think Mom Paula should introduce any prospective candidates to you two and if you two like him/her, that's who gets the job!

  18. Mommy said she used to do that when she worked at the college. They always wanted one "peon" on committees when they were interviewing. Of course, that "peon" also x-rokd the applications and distributed them to the committee, did the tabulations afterwards, sent out the letters, etc.. I wonder what tabbies had to do with it. She said her boss had a cat....

  24. Can't blame her for being so careful. Just like you wouldn't what a crummy mom, she doesn't want a crummy boss. It's amazing how many apps she has to review. We guess with lots of people out of work that happens. We've got to tell you, Brûlée, our mom could not resist that look and would have her face buried in your belly.
