Brulee doesn't talk too much, but when she does, she has the cutest little squeaky meow. She usually does this when she wants attention from Mom Paula, but when Mom Paula reaches down to pet her, Brulee moves away. You will also notice in this video that Brulee also totally ignores Mom Paula. Mom Paula says to ignore her loud southern accent. She tends to talk a little "baby-talk" when she talks to us! Today is the last day to bid on an item in the auction to help pay for medical and burial expenses for Marigold. Please visit Furriends for the CB and place a bid on an item today!
Today the CB is going "pink" to remember Skeezix. Skeezix recently left Mom Karen to go to the bridge after a short battle with that nasty cancer. Skeezix has been part of the CB since its beginning and is responsible for many of the activities and terms we use on the CB. Skeezix and Mom Karen have been blogging for 8 years. Skeezix was one of those strong mancats who was very comfortable wearing pink.
We're supposed to share our favorite memory of Skeezix today. Mom Paula was very lucky to meet Mom Karen and Flat Skeezix when she had a business meeting in San Francisco two years ago (right before we came to live with Mom Paula). We just can't imagine how exciting it was to see Flat Skeezix in person! There were other kitties (flat ones) there too, but as usual, Skeezix was front and center. Mom Paula says Mom Karen was very nice and a great time was had by all. You can see Flat Skeezix with his pin boa in front of Mom Paula and Mom Karen beside Mom Paula below.
Mom Paula said to tell you that this picture was "pre" her 23 pound weight loss.
A few long-time furriends and their beans are hosting a special donation drive to raise funds for a shelter charity in Skeezix's name. Please visit the Go Fund Me page to find out more information and/or donate. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Skeezix will be missed, but we're sure he would want all of us kitties to continue celebrating pink and enjoying all of our furriends on the CB. Brulee likes to think she shares a little bit of the fashionista with Skeezix every time she's on her pink Peggy Blankie.
Our computer was acting weird last night. Every time we'd upload a video from the Flip Video to the computer, all of the sound went away. So, Mom Paula resorted to that dreaded iPhone and uploaded a video directly to You Tube. We don't have an intro screen today and Mom Paula is talking too much, but Truffle made her laugh and that's what was important. Truffle has very little eye drainage (unlike Brulee), but she gets "eye boogers" so Mom Paula needs to clean then. Truffle decided she wanted to play with the eye cleaning pad last night and when that didn't work, she resorted to nipping Mom Paula.
We do want to offer a few words to remember a legend of the CB, Skeezix, who went to the bridge yesterday. Skeezix was diagnosed with cancer on May 26. Mom Paula met Mom Karen a couple of years ago when she went to San Francisco and really liked her. We're sending strong comforting purrs to Mom Karen. We know Sweet Praline and Beignet welcomed Skeezix to the bridge today.
We always love when Grandma Faye comes over because we get lots of treats. Don't worry - Mom Paula isn't out of town again! Grandma Faye came over last night to get Mom Paula to help her with something on the computer and when Mom Paula wasn't looking we started getting our treats! That is, until Mom Paula turned around!
Truffle begging for the treats (who's surprised?)
Brulee gets in on the begging.
Both of us caught "red pawed" begging for treats!
Pee ess - tomorrow is Grandma Faye's birthday. She'll be 77 years young!
We just love our Whole Life Freeze Dried Turkey and Chicken Treats. Mom Paula usually breaks them into smaller pieces because Truffle (the pig) tends to choke on them. We wanted to share this video to show you how polite we are when getting our treats.
Mom Paula promised us that she wasn't going on any overnight trips this week! She lied to us. We were feeling pretty good Sunday night until Truffle saw the dreaded red suitcase in a different location in the bedroom. She immediately jumped on it to keep Mom Paula from opening it.
This bag isn't leaving on my watch!
But Mom Paula can be pretty sneaky. Little did we know that she had the smaller blue suitcase in another room and off she went for another overnight stay. She said something about free tickets and a hotel room for watching our Gamecocks play in the super regional baseball game in North Carolina. We don't care if it was free - she promised!!!
As soon as she got back home Tuesday night, Brulee claimed the blue suitcase and gave Mom Paula the look that said, "Don't you dare!"
At least Grandma Faye came over and gave us extra cuddles and treats!
We're Mom Paula is still cleaning out and purging papers from our her office. We're down to one box of papers left. Brulee found this certificate and graduation photo of Mom Paula when she was getting her Ph.D. at Clemson University back in 1998. Brulee told Mom Paula she couldn't get rid of this stuff!
That's Mom Paula is the front with glasses and her major professor, Dr. John Luedeman,
We've had an exciting week celebrating Truffle's 2nd birthday, so we're going to take it easy today with Mom Paula. It's going to be a long week because Mom Paula is traveling everyday this week for work, but she'll be home with us at night.
We Persians tend to have a perpetual frown on our faces (remember Angel Sweet Praline's famous scowl!) and the only way you'll get a grin from us is to look at us upside down. MOL! Many of the definitions of "grin" say to smile broadly, usually showing teeth! Mom Paula caught me in one of my rare moments of grinning recently and dared to share it here!
Do you see my teeth? How's this for a grin?
I'm definitely showing my teeth here, but I think I'm laughing at what Mom Paula is wearing!
We hope you have a wonderful Caturday today and experience life in a waythat makes you grin.
We have two very nice (and expensive) pet water fountains, but we just love the flowing water from the bathroom sink. We keep trying to convince Mom Paula to keep this running all the time but she said something about it costing too many green papers. We don't know why... Aren't we worth all the green papers in the world?
Guess what? We're featured as an interview on Mousebreath today. Please go over and check out our interview by the Funny Farmer Felines. Who knows? You may learn some new things about us that you don't know.
You can't see the TV screen clearly, but it's Jackson Galaxy from "My Cat From Hell." I'm thankful he doesn't need to come visit me. I may be a little mischievous, but I'm not a bad kitty. Although, I wouldn't mind Jackson coming and visiting and bringing me some of those cool toys he brings those bad kitties. We good kitties should get rewarded, too!
Today is "Hug Your Cat Day." Mom Paula doesn't need a special day to hug us because we get hugs every day, all day long! Our dream would be that every kitty gets that special hug from their human each and every day.
Brulee doesn't always let Mom Paula hold her and hug her. She is a squirmy little thing and only wants to be loved on her terms. Brulee tends to be very loving when Mom Paula is in the bed. She'll snuggle up next to Mom Paula and even climb on her lap for kisses, hugs, and grooming. This picture was a rare occurrence Notice the look on Brulee's face!
Truffle loves to be hugged and will even let Mom Paula hold her like a baby and snuggle for long periods of time. The very first time Mom Paula saw Truffle at 7 weeks of age and picked her up, Truffle fell asleep (on her back) in Mom Paula's arms. It was love at first sight.
Dick Van Patten is the co-founder of Natural Balance. Some of your humans may remember him in his role as the father in Eight is Enough (we know our mom used to watch that show). His goal was to create a pet food based on sound scientific principles and not marketing hype. The Natural Balance brand has healthy food and treats for both dogs and cats. Here is the description of the chicken formula treats from the Chewy.com website:

Truffle liked the treats so much that she took off with the bag when Mom Paula wasn't looking.
We LOVED these treats. They are unique in that they have a hexagon shape (that's a six sided shape). As soon as Mom Paula opened the bag, we were ready to dig in. Brulee had a little bit of a problem taking the treat from Mom Paula's fingers because of its shape, but she then opened her mouth and Mom Paula dropped it in.

Gimme, gimme, gimme!
Everyone knows how much Truffle loves treats and these Natural Balance Perfect Bite Cat Treats were no exception. After Mom Paula caught her before she escaped with the whole bag, Truffle eat them from Mom Paula's fingers.
Yum! These are good!
Truffle liked the treats so much that she grabbed Mom Paula's fingers with both paws and pulled the treats to her mouth. Good thing Truffle's claws were just trimmed.

Mom Paula will also put the treats in her hand and let us eat directly from her hand. All in all, we give these treats four paws up! They are healthy and delicious. Our only recommendation to Natural Balance may be to make the treats a little longer to make it easier for flat faced kitties to eat them, but Brulee managed just fine!

We were not compensated for this review. Chewy.com sent us a bag to sample and for our review. We've ordered our food and other treats from Chewy and plan on doing so again in the future.
