Happy Halloween

Today is Halloween and you know what that means!  It's treat time!  Mom Paula pulled out her Halloween bowl, but it was empty!
Truffle:  Mom, you're asking for a trick!

 Brulee:  Where's the treats?

Mom Paula then filled the bowl with delicious treats, but she wouldn't open them.  All she wanted to do was take pictures of us with the flashy box!
Enough with the flash box!  Open these bags!

Truffle got impatient and took matters into her own paws.  She grabbed the bag of treats before Mom Paula could say Truffle and took off with the bag in her mouth!
Truffle:  I'll take these.

Happy Halloween to all of our Furriends!

Tummy Tuesday

Truffle decided to expose her tummy again this weekend, so Mom Paula grabbed the flashy box.

Pee ess - there really wasn't a smackdown yesterday.  Truffle just jumped down because Mom Paula stood up, but Brulee wanted everyone to think she got the best of Truffle.

Face Off

The face off begins between Truffle and Brulee.  For almost 1 year, Truffle has been able to keep Brulee in her place, but Brulee is larger now and at times has pinned Truffle down.  Both were resting on the back of the couch on separate Gamecock blankets this weekend until Brulee decided to let Truffle know this was her resting spot.
 This is my spot, Truffle!

Oh yeah!  Make me move, Brulee.

Truffle leaves the coach.  It must be Brulee's horns and that paw!  MOL!

Easy Like Sunday

We're resting easier today because Mom Paula's meeting in Washington, DC was cancelled due to the hurricane.  We hope all of our furriends in Hurricane Sandy's path stay safe.

There's a new Himmie in the blogging world - Zoe from Zoe the Himalayan Kitty.  She and her human live in Canada.  We hope everyone will give Zoe a big CB welcome.

Photo Hunt - Spooky

Today's Photo Hunt theme is "spooky."  Isn't Truffle spooky looking in this photo?  Can't you just picture a witch's hat on her head?

Our Gamecocks are playing the Tennessee Volunteers today at 12:00 noon EST on ESPN.  It's nice to have our Gamecocks back home after being on the road playing two top ten teams (and losing both!).  We're going to be cheering against our furrends over at Jasper McKitten-cats!

Friday at the Movies - Truffle Did It

Remember Truffle's innocent face yesterday?  Well, Mom Paula caught her getting into mischief again.  This time, Truffle was trying to pull down Mom Paula's towel from the shower.  Notice once again, how well Truffle balances on her back paws (just like on the table trying to get the Gamecock ornament).  Notice Truffle's pitiful little meow trying to encourage Mom Paula to get the towel down for her.  Do you think she did it?

I Didn't Do It

Whatever it was, I didn't do it!  I was sitting on this chair the whole time!
Don't I look innocent?

Well, it wasn't me.  I was over here the whole time!
Here's what I think of your innocent look.

Peek A Boo

Look closely for the eyes peeking through the blinds.  Don't worry - neither of us were outside.  Mom Paula had the door open this weekend and Truffle peeked through the blinds at Brulee.

Trouble Truffle Tuesday

We thought we may get through a week without Truffle getting into trouble again!  Guess what?  It didn't happen!  Mom Paula bought this very nice silk tree when she moved back into her house in 2003.  Her mom bought a special handmade Gamecock ornament for the tree and it's been in the top of the tree for almost 10 years.  Sweet Praline never bothered it!  You guessed it!  Truffle discovered the ornament this weekend.  Notice how close she is to the edge of the table!
This looks like fun!

Mom Paula is also in trouble!  Even though she's helped us post everyday, she's been so busy at work (and on the road) that she hasn't been helping us visit our furriends!  Hopefully, we'll be around to visit soon.

Brulee's Fur Horns

Many of you talk about Brulee's fur horns!  Even Mom Terri asked Mom Paula if she was going to trim them and Mom Paula said, "No way!  I think they are cute!"  Yesterday, Mom Terri sent us a picture of Brulee's kitty mom, Mikayla.  Mom Terri called them her "wings."
Mikayla (she's a Golden Shaded Persian and is a new mom to a Golden kitten!)

Brulee really does look like a silver version of her mom.  We still like to call those little fur tufts "fur horns."  MOL

Photo Hunt - Sassy

We're Persians, so we're naturally sassy!
 Sassy Brulee

Sassy Truffle

Our Gamecocks are on the road again playing another top 10 football team:  the Florida Gators!  You can see the game on CBS at 3:30 pm EST.  We'll be watching the game on TV again.

Friday at the Movies: Singing the PTU Blues

Truffle is usually pretty quiet around the house and when she meows, it's a very silent type meow!  This isn't true when she's put in the PTU and travels in the metal monster to the Vet!  Mom Paula pulled out her "smart phone" and took this quick little video of Truffle singing the PTU Blues.

We interrupt this video for a special PSA from Brulee:  I don't know why all of the attention this week has been on Truffle.  I'm part of this household, too!

Truffle's First Annual Checkup

Truffle had her first annual checkup with the vet yesterday.  We were expecting to see Dr. Boyette, who we've seen in the past, but were greeted by Dr. Lisa Keisler.  We really liked her.  Turns out she used to work in a "cats only" clinic before coming to Cherokee Trail and she has 9 cats!  She joked about when she got older, she was afraid she was going to be viewed as the "old cat lady."  Our mom laughed and said she resembled that remark!

Mom Paula pulled out the PTU Tuesday night so Truffle wouldn't be afraid of it.  Truffle just walked right in and started playing.  Brulee stared at her from the back with that knowing look.
Uhhhh, Big Sister - are you sure you want to get in there?

Yesterday morning (Wednesday), Mom Paula grabbed Truffle and put her in the PTU.  (Mom Paula - Truffle didn't fight me at all!)  Notice Brulee is nowhere to be found!
Just wait until I get out of here, Brulee!

The roadtrip in the car wasn't fun at all!  Truffle talked to Mom Paula the whole way (Mom Paula took a short video of Truffle's cries and will show it tomorrow if everything goes okay).
Maybe if I use my laser vision, I can open this thing (notice the pet roller in the car!)

Yesterday morning must have been the day for the woofies.  There were all sizes in there and boy, were they loud.  We were taken to exam room #5 and I was weighed.  I weigh a whopping 5.75 pounds!  The vet tech had the nerve to ask Mom Paula if I'd let her take my temperature and my mom said yes.  Do you know where she put that thing???  My temperature was normal.  The vet tech then tried to make up for it by giving me a snuggle.  Do you think I was happy at this point?
Just wait until you put me down.  My claws haven't been trimmed yet!

Dr. Keisler then came in to examine me.  We talked about vaccinations and Mom Paula told her about Beignet and asked Dr. Keisler to review Beignet's pathology reports and they discussed the appropriate vaccinations.  Dr. Keisler doesn't believe in giving unnecessary vaccines either, but that didn't stop her from sticking me!  They talked about my foods and Dr. Keisler prefers we eat Royal Canin.  She said my feline acne didn't look bad at all, but did suggest I get away from our plastic water fountain.  Dr. Keisler talked about how beautiful my coat was and said I had the purrfect little nose!  She then picked me up and loved on me.
Now this is more like it.

All in all, everything went fine (except for the green papers spent).  Brulee is scheduled to go for her first checkup in December.  Brulee will need to get her shots on separate days and be pretreated with Benadryl because she had a reaction last year.

On a different note - we'd like to ask everyone to purr for Auntie Deb and Mom ML.  Auntie Deb is having problems from her hand surgery and Mom ML is still having problems with her migraines and did something to her back.  Mom ML posted on her blog today and we were thrilled to hear from her.  We hope they are both better very soon and are back blogging with us.

Tuesday Tails

It's started getting a little cooler here, especially at night.  Our winter floof is starting to come in and our floofy tails are getting even floofier!  We both love to rest on top of the printer, but there's not enough room for both of us at the same time anymore.  Mom Paula managed to catch us at different times to show our floofy tails.

Munching on Monday

We're sure glad our empty bowl was filled with our stinky goodness.  Mom Paula let us try the Wellness grain free sliced chicken and we love it!  Now, we're eating Weruva, Merrick and Wellness.
Nom! Nom!  (Biggify to see Brulee's cute little pink tongue)

Truffle goes to the vet on Wednesday for her first annual checkup!  Mom Paula is a little nervous.

Pee ess - How do you like our new look?  Mom Paula is playing around with Photo Shop and thought she'd try out a new Halloween look for the blog.

Pee pee ess - Happy Veterinary  Technician week to Mom Terri!

Easy Like Sunday

We're taking it easy today!

The LSU Tigers beat our Gamecocks 23-21.  We're disappointed our chickens lost, but are proud that they hung in there!  Next weekend we face the Gators in Florida.

Photo Hunt: Empty

Today's Photo Hunt theme is "empty".  We don't like it when our bowl is "empty".
 Moooommmmmm!  Our bowl is empty!

We like it when the can is empty because that means our food bowl is no longer empty!

Our Gamecocks are playing the LSU Tigers tonight at 8:00 pm EST on ESPN.  Mom Paula is staying home and watching it on TV this time (something about another trip right now being too expensive with Truffle going to the vet this week).  We must pull for our chickens even though they are playing the striped kitties.  Go Gamecocks!

Friday at the Movies: New Water Fountain?

We love our pet water fountain, but we haven't quite figured out this water in the bathroom sink.  It makes a noise like our pet water fountain, but it's harder to reach the water and our paws get wet!

We sat there and watched the water "forever" and we thought you'd get bored watching, so here's a short little video for you.

Glamorous Dessert Sisters

Today we thought we'd share a glamour shot of each of us.  We're thankful Mom Paula takes the time to groom us (even though we don't usually like it!)  In these pictures, even Brulee's eyes are clean! Thank you, Mom Paula.

Trouble Truffle Tuesday

We thought we'd get through a week without Truffle getting into trouble again, but once again, she did something new to make Mom Paula shake her head.  As many of you will remember, Truffle loves to get into the trash cans, even with trash in them.  Mom Paula has resorted to putting books and boxes over the trashcans so Truffle won't get in them.

This is the trashcan in our bedroom.  Notice the boxes on top of the trashcan to keep Truffle out.

Mom Paula keeps a bag of treats in the nightstand beside our bed.  Each morning we get a treat or two when Mom Paula wakes up.  She also uses the bag of treats to find us when we're not in the bedroom (we've trained her well).  Yesterday morning, we ate the last of the treats in the bag, so Mom Paula threw the bag in the trashcan in our bedroom and had the boxes on top.  You probably know where we are going with this . . .

When Mom Paula got home from work last night, here's what she found beside the trashcan.

Notice all the teeth marks in the bag!  When Mom Paula looked at the trashcan, the boxes had been moved to the side.  Mom Paula immediately began looking for Truffle.  Truffle was under the bed looking at the bag.  Looks like someone is in trouble again.
It wasn't me!
